Raw White honey FAQ

Q: Why is your honey white?

A: It is white because of the low moisture content. The Drier the climate in which the honey is produced, the lighter the color.
The wetter the climate, the more moisture in the honey, the darker the color.
Our honey comes from the prairies of southern Alberta Canada, where it is much drier than New England. (CT gets about 3 to 4 times more precipitation than Alberta does).

Q: Why is your honey solid, and not liquid like the other raw honey I have seen?

A: As soon as our Honey is harvested, it is cooled quickly which causes the honey to crystallize into very fine crystals, resulting in a smooth, spreadable honey.

Q:What kind of honey is your honey?

A: This honey is a Clover/ Wildflower Honey.

Q: What are the benefits of Raw/unprocessed honey?

A: Most honey sold in stores has been pasteurized (heated) and is therefore not Raw. The pasteurization process destroys many of the healthful organic compounds and substances naturally found in honey (phytochemicals, antioxidants, and nutrients). Our Raw honey is never heated and therefore retains these beneficial nutrients.
Q: Is your honey local?

A: People often ask if our honey is local because they have heard that "
we should eat local honey because eating the local pollen will help with allergies."

Our first question in reply is "Do you suffer from Allergies?"
If not, then one should feel free to enjoy any of the many varieties of raw honey from all over the world.

If they do have pollen allergies, our reply is "Go ahead and eat local honey for your allergies, and then eat our honey for the delicious flavor, it's extensive health benefits,  and unique texture".

Our Raw White Honey is not really comparable to local honey because it is so different. Raw White Honey cannot be produced in the Northeast USA. We simply do not have the necessary climate & conditions here to produce it.
